In April 2018, the renowned Dresden International Film Festival celebrated its 30th anniversary – and we at Protoplanet had the honor of designing and animating the festival trailer! What’s it all about? In just 50 seconds, there’s a lot to see: morphing characters, fun creatures and creative transitions.

Let’s stick with the must-see trailers. The ones from the Dresden Film Festival are certainly worth it. Director Antje Heyn has animated a peculiar creature that undergoes a turbulent transformation in 50 seconds. It could be a bubble fish, a popcorn badger, and an umbrella bear all at once. The lively musical accompaniment has the potential to get you tapping along. What a blast! At the end, rockets and champagne corks pop.
