Arte Karambolage

For Arte Karambolage, this isn’t the first time he has been an object of interest: the East German traffic light man. For this update about him, it was up to us to find a visual narrative arc and to work out what makes the story of this beloved protagonist of public space so special. The film traces his history back to the origins in the GDR where the Ampelmann was popular early on, and follows him through post-reunification times to current national fame.
